Day 16

The past couple days I've had a lot more energy.  I feel like I've come through a period of detox and now my body knows what to do with all the veggies we've been eating.  I've also dialed back the caffeine.  I went to play in an ultimate frisbee tournament today, did my work out first.  I found it much easier to run on the balls of my feet then I have in the past.  I also found I didn't need to stray from the diet much.  I had a couple of extra pieces of bread, but besides that I stayed with PCP.  I feel like I am starting the spring off in better shape then I have in the past few years, but I would like to have more endurance and explosive speed.  The tourney was a good time we went 2-2.  Here's a photo of one of our games.

Any way feeling great looking forward to more.  Good night sleep helps too.

Day 14

Felt exhausted all day.  Went to a fun and easy frisbee practice this evening. Felt so much better after getting some exercise.  Did my skips when I got home, ate dinner and here I am.  Looking to play in a frisbee tournament on Saturday.  There is one right after PCP ends so maybe that will give me a good perspective on before and after fitness.  I'd like to play in a league on Tues. and Thurs. nights while doing PCP I'll have to see how it goes.  Looks like I'm losing weight.  I'm down to 185 pounds or 84 kg I think I started at 190-195 so around 87 kg.

13 Down

13 days down.  I had to do one without my scale, because I dropped it.
I think it went fine and I picked up a new one with grams so I don't have to convert to ounces.  When is the rest of the world going to stop using metric anyway? Just kidding.
I missed photos for week 1 so I'll have to make sure to get them up for week 2.  Pretty tired today, worked Monday and Tuesday night which makes it tough to get to sleep early then up at 4 to feed Taj.  Then to compensate I've been drinking about 3 cups of black tea which doesn't feel like a great way to get energy.  I feel like I'm griping over little stuff.  Mostly I feel great.  Not having beer or ice cream late at night has makes mornings a lot nicer.  I like getting used to making veggies the main course and so far that feels like a lesson that will continue after day 90.  Well that's about all for now.  I'm going to go peruse some other pcp blogs.  I'll leave you with a couple more photos.
Here's breakfast with out the scale.  Looks about right.
The garbage bowl. It doesn't look good.  It tastes kind of good, but there is something satisfying when you eat it.

Day 11

Day 11 done.  Today was a good lesson on how I need to manage time.  Steph had last week off so finding time for PCP was easy.  Today I got home from waiting tables at around 9 and it was time to do the exercises.  Then dinner, but luckily the chef sent me home with salad and steak all I had to do was weigh it.

"Jane says I'm done with Sergio" Day 10

It's nice to be on the PCP diet.  Leading up to it I felt like an addict needing to eat a little more junk food before having to quit.  So far so good.  Food prep time is a little long right now, but with a some organizing in the fridge I think things will go smoothly.  I have mostly just been eating raw veggies, chicken, some fish, shrimp, and a piece of lamb (thanks Naila), and for carbs I started off with a lot of bread, but have been adding in pasta and oatmeal.  Some of the meals have looked great and tasted great.  Others have been like a garbage bowl...for example this morning I took a bunch of kale threw it in a blender with milk then added it to oatmeal with hard boiled eggs, and chopped carrots (sorry no picture).  It feels like a lot of food almost too much.  I find myself forcing down the last couple bites, but I'm usually ready to eat when it's time for the next meal.  I feel like I am learning a lot more then just fitness.  How to prepare a healthy meal of course, also how to blog, how to take a photo.  For example which photo do I post?

One more recent meal.  This is on a plate I hardly ever use because it's huge.  Although my vegetable serving usually doesn't take up half the plate.

Day 7

I'm sure at some point I'll stop posting everyday, but right now I'm trying to stay on top of myself.  I've never been very tech savvy, but I'm starting to get into this whole blog thing.  Jump rope was tough today, felt a little run down but feeling great now.  I'm in New Hampshire for a few days and we got out for a hike this morning which was beautiful.

I know I've read about a dozen other PCP blogs, but I am still so excited and uncertain of what the diet is going to look like starting tomorrow.

Day 6

Still need to knock out the exercise, but curious to see what comes next.

Day 5

Starting to get excited.

Here are my new scales.  I have to admit I kept saying to myself that I thought being concerned about weight was silly and that I did not want to go back to a high school wrestling mentality.  However, when I saw that I am 190 lbs or 86 Kg.  I thought yeah I could lose a few pounds.

Here's me setting it up so I can use my pull up bar inside or outside, I'm really excited about that.

Here's lunch; spinach, broccoli, cucumbers, hard boiled egg, mozzarella, humus, and then I had some almonds and raisins.

The other thing that got me excited today was the first frisbee practice of the year.  It was great to be outside running around, but I found it challenging.  I'm excited for the challenge.  For me more then how I look in a photo, more then what the number on the scale says I will be excited to see how I feel during physical activity, and I am looking forward to seeing not only the physical change but the change in the mind, focus, mental toughness etc.

Food for today: 1. Half a glass of OJ and a banana and a couple cups of roibus tea with honey and                                      half and half.
                          2. Half and egg and cheese sandwich
                          3. Half a PB+J
                          4. Salad seen above and a cup of black tea with honey and half and half
                          5. Salad similar to above; spinach, broccoli, cucumbers, cottage cheese, humus, and
                              raisins.
Each spaced about 2-4 hours.

Day 4

Had a glass of OJ and a banana and then headed back to the ocean for about 2 hours of surfing.  My arms were pretty tired from the day before but it's always great to be in the water.  Came home made and egg and cheese just one egg.  Did the work out.   Later had half chicken parm (other half from the day before).  Then I threw out the left over cake to remove temptation.  I took my kids to the playground.  Carried my youngest in a pack on the way down.  Carried my 1 yr old and my 4 yr old on the way back.  By dinner time I was really hungry.  I had beans and rice, which I have heard are not PCP compliant and I am going to miss them.  Black beans cooked with kale, carrots, celery, and onion are a staple around here.

I think I just pulled off my first photo on a blog.

Day 3

I think day three is done, but the second half of my chicken parm sub is calling me so is whats left of my birthday cake.  We were visiting family in Boston yesterday.  I did my work out when I got home it felt fine took about ten minutes. Then I went surfing for about 2-21/2 hours.  After surfing (in cold water) I have a tendency to want to eat a lot.  Well I didn't go back for the thin mints last night and I'm starting to think I don't need any more food tonight.
Food for today: Juice w/ protein powder and green powder, 2 bagels w/cream cheese, snickers bar, odwalla bar, half a chicken parm sub. It was all spaced out like one item every couple of hours.

day 2

Well my wife through me a surprise birthday party last night...so I was dragging a little this morning, but the morning exercise and half a bagel with cream cheese helped get me going.
Day 2 just about done.  I did open my father in laws freezer and saw two boxes of thin mints, and I thought great I'll just eat half the amount I would normally eat.  Then I remembered aren't I supposed to be cutting down on sugar too.  So, so far they have gone untouched.  So I've been wondering did anyone else find themself endulging more the week/month before this started because they knew PCP was right around the corner?

day 1

Work out done.  Had an egg sandwich with one egg instead of like 3, but as the cheese was oozing out the sides I realized I didn't half that.  Well my day one is just getting started while most of you have finished yours.  It was nice to wake up and read about how your day one went, it made me excited to start mine.
Photos to come later today.
